Do I really need apply a new visa to come back from Canada next time?
Couple months ago, I came back after landing Canada with my I-94 and expired VISA. My old visa had two enrties within 6 months. I used one when first entering US, and there was one more entry left but expired long time ago. When I reentered from Canada. one of the U.S. immigration officers at the port changed the entry number to 0 on my expiried visa, and told me seriously that I have to apply a new visa to come back U.S. next time. I thought he probably misunderstood the entry number on my old visa.
By the way I have changed my status in US from F-1 to H-1B in last month.
Any response is highly appreciated.
Can I reenter from Canada for sure with I-94 for H-1B?
