fingerprint immediately after

I just sent out I-485 before Oct.1 and received the notice of the receipt. However it said:

If this receipt is for an I-485, ... application
Biometrics - (fingerprint, photo, signature)

The next step is to have your biometrics taken at a USCIS Application
Support Center (ASC). Call customer service at 1.800.375.5283 to
schedule your appointment.

Does this mean I should have a fingerprint right now? Is it too
early? (and also it didn't say which code apply to my fingerprint). I heard it usually takes half year or one year later to schedule
an appointment after the I-485 is sent out. Have you ever have this
similar situation?
