you have one month grace period after you J-1 visa expire. I have got the favorable recommendation now, my no objection letter was sent to DOS in
August too, your might be proved too. You can ask the lawyer to see if you have some good ways. Don't go back if you want to stay here, it is hard to return usa if you go back.
