leave U.S. and reapply for an H4 visa, to switch back to H4 status easily. My friend's wife did so, came back already. The problem is, she couldn't continue her job, since her EAD expired upon I140/485 denial. But they resubmitted the I140 and got it approved later. Now their I485 is pending.
