I 485 case is. For example, you filed your I485 with VSC, then you should file I131(for AP) and I765 (for EAD) there too.

Only when 90 days has passed since your EAD receipt and yet you haven't received it yet, can you go to local INS office to apply for an interim EAD. They will issue you one on the spot.

You don't have to wait 3 months before applying an EAD for your wife. As long as you get the I485 receipt, you can go ahead and do it.
