H4 still valid if using 485 EA

If using 485 EAD to work, is the H4 status still valid? If H4 still valid, can one use H4 visa to travel overseas and return to the USA without the Advanced Parole?

If you have such experiences, could you please share them with me? I asked my lawyer in Houston the question, but he no longer answers my questions because he already got my all payments for GC application.
