AP Expire Date?

We applied one year multiple entry AP. Expire date is 12-15-2005 which is printed on the AP. We went back to China once this summer. When we come back, the immigration officer stamped our AP with another expire date which is sometime next year. My question is can I use the AP again after 12-15-2005?
