据最新消息，2006财政年度employment-based的签证名额将由140,000 增加到248,000 (其中包括7,000个来自family-based转来的名额，以及101,000个从FY-1999-2004年度多于的名额) 。这有可能改善现时Visa Bulletin 的情况。另外，移民局也正考虑其它改善措施，例如对附合条件的I-140申请人及其配偶发放Advance Parole及EAD等。
