I've read many of your postings in the past couple of days. I know this retro thing is taxing, but I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it if I were you. Being affected are not only hundreds of thousands of alien workers, but also thousands of powerful big companies, who have been taking advantage of the influx of foreign skill workers. They are more concerned than you and I are, trust me, and they will change it before too long. They can change it if they're deteined to do so, and they will.
So don't panic Sister. You'll get your GC in a couple of years, at most.
