父母签证 DS157 Question! Apprecia

我父亲现在61岁, 已退休. 退休前在公安局工作并且年轻的时候参过军(义务兵). 不知如何添写DS157的 Item14 和 Item 15:

Item14: Do You Have Any Specialized Skills or Training, Including Firearms, Explosive, Nuclear, Biological, or Chemical Experience?

我父亲受过基本的枪械训练, 但不是 Specialized Skill or Training.

Item15: Have You Ever Performed Military Service?
他只是3年义务兵.

如果我添"否", 大使管能查出来吗?

I really appreciate any suggestion and response.
