my status

I am holding F-1 visa and I need about 2 more years to finish my study. My hu*****and is working at an institute, which is a potential permanent position. We submit I140 last month (Aug) in order to avoid taking risk just because of my status, no response up to now. But right now, everything is out of my expectation, we plan to submit our I485. if I140 is approved, that’s ok for us. If not, I wonder to know if I must stop studying and go back to china.
