Using your EAD based on I485

You will change your H1 status to AOS (adjustment of status). That's a drawback of using EAD to change your job. Before your I140 is approved, you'd better keep your H1 status valid. Otherwise once your I140 is denied, your I485 and EAd will expire, since they are all based on your I140. But if at that time you still using your H1 status, then you can still work and appeal, or reapply, whichever way you choose.
