Should I apply my EAD ?

Hope someone give us an answer?

My hu*****and and I applied the I140/I485 at May 2005. This month, the I140 was appoved. But no response about I485. My question is

Should we apply the EAD for both of us before 1/10 if we will not use it recently? May we apply it when we want to use it, maybe next year?
