Need a stamp on passport?

I just got my GC. A friend of mine’s told me that I need to have a stamp on my passport when I receive GC, but my lawyer told me I don’t need to do so. Anyone knows which is correct? If I need to have the stamp, where can I get it? Thanks a lot.
