485receipt,IMMI_US please come

485 filed on 08/15, receipt received on 08/23.
On receipt, it says "if this receipt is for an I-485...... the next step is to have your biometrics taken at a US ASC....call number 1-800-375-5283......to schedule an appoitment" So I called 8/23 and scheduled an appoitment on 10/11/05. Now I wasn't sure I did the right thing. Question:
1. Should I wait for FP notice?

2. more importantly, should i cancel the appointment time I made so that it won't confuse the immig. officer who is going to set up the appointment for me? I mean the appointment time on FP notice may be earlier based on the info posted on this forum.
