Help Qs of AP and EAD

We have our I485 pending now and want to use AP to go back China. I'm currently using my H-1.
Questions:
1. I heard that I can still use my H-1 withour doing anything after I use the AP, if I'm still working with my current employer. Is it true? Anyone try it before?
2. Is it really safe to use the AP? Anyone got any trouble when re-enter?

Any info will be appriciated.
