回复：back to China w/GC pending

There is no prolem going back to China with H1B visa after you filed your I140/I485. I just did it a month and a half ago. I went back to China before my AP was approved and applied for visa at the US embassy in Beijing. I didn't have any trouble getting my visa and coming back. You do need to make the visa appointment as early as possible. In my case, when I called, the earliest time I could get was about 3 weeks later. There is always a chance to be security checked, but you got to do what you think is more important. Good luck!
