time for H-1 postdoc transfer?

Dear Friends,

I am going to move from my current H-1 postdoc to another university. Does anyone know how long it would take for my new emplyer to prepare the documents and submit? I heard that I can work for the new boss once he gets the receipt from Immigration office? Is this true??
