try again to find out what they will say in second time. how many years you mention for "past years" ? how many times did your parents visit you? if they said your parents stayed in US more than stayed in china. you maybe simply count it for your parents. if they ask your parents the same question, your parents will tell them the truth against their stupit questions.
whenever or whatever they ask the questions, you have to reply with reasonal reasons. it is the worst without any answers when they ask you some questions.
