Panguitch is another choice.

Also I will recommend Ruby's Inn near the Bryce entrance. You can then go into the park at night to take pictures under the moonlight, or go early in the morning to catch the sunrise.

There are also lodges inside Zion. They are more costly then St.George, of course.
