回复:看到一个人均GDP, 家庭月收入中位数香港和新加坡的比较,很意外
if you take exchange rate into account, what's the exchange rate (say 2000) for SGD-HKD?
assume that there is no change in the singapore medium salary, no change in the hk medium salary.
the HKD$ earner would be loosing 30% (?) comparing to the SGD$ earner.
does that mean the same HKD$ earner's spending power is 30% less than the SGD$ earner ?
i'm not saying if HK or singaopre is better. but, does it mean anything to you if you look at the above two number only?
from what i heard, singapore's personal income is about 2% higher than HK's, singapore has better social net (pension), thus, about 20% (?) of income is in the pension (i.e. not spendable). there is 7%GST included in most of the goods. of course, in return, singaporean gets better social security comparing to HK. Again, it depends what you are looking for and what kind of salary level that you are comparing.
