1st of all, has your daughter tried to enter HK border ? do you mean HK border reject her?

Since she has valid china passport+ US green card,
she can leave china border w/o any problem. w/o that香港学生VISA, She can enter HK and stay there 7 days. The reason is she just transfer to other flight to US. I did this way many times w/o any HK visa.

Right now, she has 香港学生VISA. I don't see any reason why she can't enter and stay in HK.

As for the "入港旅行证" you mentioned, does it specify " HK pass for China mailland resident" or generic word " travel ID" ?

I believe the " HK pass for China mailland resident" needs her 户口和身份证.
