Shanghai should be a better city in the future. But China economy is in danger now. So much money is put into the financial system and those money should not be printed out in the first place. The inflation is coming. Anyway all those will affect Shanghai's future too. This is why many rich people still want to come to HK to treat it as a safe place compared to mainland cities. This is why HK is still attractive compared with Shanghai now. In the past decades people flooded to HK to look for safety and stability.
