This is a very routine

management of PPD positive patients. I think, to be safe, follow the doctor's advice.

But you have to know, in U.S., patients (for minors, their parents) reserve the right to say no to any treatment. So if you insist not taking the medicine, just say no. But I suggest that you follow the doctor's advice. Monitor your son's liver function is necessary, I think.
