Sorry, it was the first time I made comments here. I am fighting my wife's depression now. It is tough. I agree withe the author that love and understanding are the most important things to fight with depression. Many reasons can cause depression. Fortunately, my wife's was mainly trigered by long-lasting illness that has not been taken care of in a timely matter. Certainly, homemaker and surrounded by work-holic women contributed her depression too. Pay specail attention to the signs of early depression - withdraw, losing interests in things that love before, don't like social, even question the meaning of life.
