usually lung function test is a more important indicator than wheezing and coughing. since the body can get adept to asthma and low lung function without any symptom like wheezing and coughing. this is a bad situation since you donot even know you are very sick.
I donot understand why the doctor did not use oral steriod with a very low lung function as you said above.
maybe something is missing here.
