My suggestion is

Talk to your doctor. And ask questions. If he is not cooperative, leave him alone.

No one here should give his PROFESSIONAL advice on a specific case no matter how much science-based evidence he has.

If you do not trust the doctor you are seeing, check out a second one for his opinion. You do not have to take whatever they try to pull on you.
