Thanks a lot for your response. You posted 3 very good questions which I haven't thought much before.

I don't know, my OB doctor didn't mention anything about the type of the cyst.

OB has observed the cyst 3 months in a row with ultrasound, but she only did the ultrasound on cycle day 13 before IUI, not on different hormonal levels

I don't think she tested the CEA level but I am not sure.

I am not young any more(35) and have been trying quite some time to have my 2nd baby. I am getting desperate that is why I was willing to follow whatever suggestion my OB gave me. When I heard that I have a 4cm cyst on one side and that can affect pregnancy, I just want to get rid of the cyst as soon as possible. My OB can schedule the laparoscopy very soon, however I don't know how early the infertility doctor can gave me the surgery(assuming I do need one), maybe months later.

But you are right, I should seriously re-consider it before rush into the surgery. Thanks a lot for your opinion.
