Since your thyroid cancer was only 1 mm in size, it is just an incidental finding and prob. won't grow if left unremoved. Hemithyroidectomy is considered curative for small cancer like this. No further treatment is needed.

I'm not sure how your right lobe look like, do you have nodules in the right lobe? if you do, you need to monitor that by serial ultrasound. If no nodules in the right lobe, then you're done.
