He deserves an MRI and/or temporal bone CT while observing, if the insurance company can authorize that. DO not only blame the doctor. Due to the HMO reforme, many times it is the HMO adjustors who decide what kind of exam you are going to get, not the doctors.

On the other hand, in China, you still blame the doctors for prescribing too many expensive exams. Having a doctor friend can be handy at times like this.
