夏威夷－－海滩，健行，潜水和滑雪的类同和对比

这次在夏威夷除了一天去钻石山头健行，其他时间就在酒店门口的Waikiki海滩随便散散步晒晒太阳。没有很惊艳的美，但还蛮漂亮蛮舒服。

只有一小段蛮陡的。真心不难走。山顶视野开阔，风景怡人。










半路上有一个观景平台。原本我的绝妙主意是叫老公来当Rose，而我反串Jack，那才好玩呢，可他就是不肯合作！只有大妈自己来耍宝了。给我们照相的路人甲都笑岔气了。

潜水悲剧后，只能坐等他人下潜第二筒。和船上的日本老水手聊天，我很无聊地列举种种滑雪和潜水的类同和对比，写下来玩儿。

Diving vs. Skiing

After my unlucky throw-up episode, I had to sit out my second dive today. Maybe because our ski trip was so recent, diving actually reminded me of skiing, and I had a lovely chat with one of the crews about diving vs. skiing.

The two activities are quite opposite. Diving is best enjoyed in summer and in warm, tropical islands, and skiing is best enjoyed when it's very cold and in high mountains.

Skiing is about breaking speed; diving is about floating and relaxing as much as possible.

Both only require water, one form or another.

Both activities require quite a bit of gear. To me, putting on the heavy gear is half of the work. Walking in your fins to the edge of the boat or walking up to the chairlift in your ski boots -- one word: clumsy.

Both activities are silent sports. When we skied down the slopes, there was only faint shush of snow drifting, and my occasional yelling of 'french fries', 'pizza' at the kids, oops. Underwater, the only sound is your own breathing through the regulator. In an increasingly noisy world, it's such a treat to be surrounded by silence.

Both activities are filled with incredible beauty of nature.

Whether swooshing downhill on skis or drifting underwater, both activities are like flying, though diving is like flying in slow motion, or like Will says, "in space".

Both activities are very enjoyable. Both are filled with adventure.

My pick is skiing. Will said he can't pick.
