Advance Parole and H1b

Anybody who has used the Advance Parole, do the inspection officer ask for your EAD card when entering US? I am currently on H1b valid till 2007, if I used AP, it will invalid my H1b (I heard, not sure if it's ture or not), then if I don't have valid EAD, i can't work after paroled back? So confused, please help if you know. thans.
