H1-B 的问题 - 在H1-B生效与OPT过期的其间

I got some questions about my H1-B status. I just received a letter from INS, which state that I need to go back to my own country to apply the H1-B visa. The reason is because i will out of status between 8/31 to 10/1. (My OPT expire 6/30)

I just wondering that is that any other ways i can apply my H1-B in united states? I am worry about that i cannot get the H1-B if i go back to my own country to apply it. Can i submit a new I-20 to prove that i still have the status?
