Will H1B reapply affect 485

My H1B has expired. I'm using EAD with 485 pending. To bring my wife to USA (I just got married), a lawyer told me to re-apply H1B and my wife apply H4 in China. Is this a valid choice? If I reapply H1B, will it affect my pending I-485 and EAD?

How likely is it for my wife to get H4 in China? Is there any good suggestion about how to bring my wife to USA sooner?

Do I have to go to China to get H1B now? Or I can still do it thru Canada?
