Question: H1B interview

Hi,

I am planning to make an appointment in the US embassy
for H1B VISA. I would like to know how many dates before
the starting date of H1B I can make the reservation?
For example, if my H1B starts on Oct. 1, 2005, can I
go for an interview now?

Also, assuming I get the H1B, when can I go to US?
10 days prior to Oct. 1, 2005?
