H1B visa stamp help

I just got my H1B visa status through my teaching position at the university. I am thinking to get a H1B visa stamp from Canada before I go home this summer. Has anyone applied for H1B visa stamp from Canada recently? I have heard conflicting information about the possibility of being denied. Thank you very much. I have not been home for several years. Thank you for your advice!
