2017.7 OPT 开始，教职工作开始
2018.6 OPT结束
2018.11 护照过期
请问8老师和各位：
（1）何时申请H1B较好，需要先去大使馆延期护照再申请吗？
-Up to you. As long as the passport does not expires when you file H-1 petitition, then it will be fine. But you may new the passport in advance up to 6 months before it expires.
（2）有必要做premium processing吗？
-Depends how late the H-1 petition is filed. If your OPT expires before your H-1 is approved, you have to stop working.
（3）offer letter上标注的start date是8月中，但是系主任让我７月去报到，需要联系HR修改offer letter上的日期吗？
-Not need. You can asked the school to indicate the work start date (i.e. H-1 effective date) to be July on I-129. I-129 filing does not need job offer letter.
（４）cap exempt h1b 的生效日期也是当年的10月1吗？
-No. It is the date indicated on LCA and I-129 by your employer.
如果我今年秋天递交申请，是不是很有可能批不下来需要等到明年10月1号h1b才会生效？这样即将过期的护照（2018.11）会影响工作签证的申请吗？
