我在美国境内由H4转成F1，给我的approval notice上面有I94。是不是我现在身份是F1,但却没有F1的签证，不能随意进出美国的？

-You can leave US, but you may need to get the F-1 visa to reenter US.

我在西雅图，如我和先生带孩子开车去加拿大的温哥华办签证，大概停留一周，我自己需要去申请新的F1签证才能重新入境美国吗？

Automatic Visa Revalidation (AVR)对我的情况是否适用？

-Yes if your F-1 status has been activated (I-20 is effective), i.e. you have studied in the school formally. Then, you may present the passport with the original visa (e.g. H-4 visa) stamp, and the F-1  I-797 approval notice and I-94 card showing the change of status, and the I-20.  You need to talk to your school International Student Office before you travel.

If you do not formally study yet (I-20 is not effective), you have to get the F-1 visa to enter US from Canada. Also, please note that you only can reenter US from Canada or another country in advance up to 30 days before the I-20 is effective (i.e. the first semester begins). You can find the I-20 effective date on the I-20.
