在美国提交I-539将H1b转成J-1。现在有些疑问，希望大家帮忙。

1. 如果I-539 处理期间，H1b工作到期，怎么办？ 还能合法留在美国等待结果吗？
-Yes, but you can not work until the J-1 status is approved.

2. I-539 上new status and effective date是要填DS-2019 上职位开始的时间吗？
-Yes.
