If you need to change your status, you should do it as soon as possible (within one month should be OK unless you current employer withdraw the H1 immediately after you leave).

-Never 占新名额 (not need new H1 quote) no matter whether when you transfer the h1.

-Change your status to another non-immigration status such as F1, B2 (B2 only for short term-6 months, normally), etc.
