网上说，交了485之后 如果opt/F expire 了，就自动进入AOS，在这种情况下，"Cap to Gap" rule for F1还适用吗？

-Yes as long as you file the H1 petition before the OPT expires.

就是说我现在opt，交了485,  pending，opt8月过期了（变成AOS了吗？），4月1号申了H1B （COS）, 但是10/1才生效，

-Because your OPT change to H1 is pending, your status is not 自动进入AOS (you are in pending status, not AOS). Only if you have not any non-immigration status, then you 自动进入AOS.

之前的opt还能自动cover9月的gap吗？

-Yes.
