question on H1B using FMLA

I am on H1B and I just had a baby. I have taken short term disability and 6 weeks of FMLA. For the rest 6 weeks of FMLA, can I use it 2 days/ week and work 3 days/week? Do I need to file amendment to change H1B status to partime? I am thinking no but please advice me if i am wrong.

If I can go back and use FMLA as I planned, company will maintain the pay rate but will remove the 401k and pto such (company policy) during this period. Will this be considered payment change thus status change?
