from non capped H1B to capped H1B

I am working with H1B at a university now, which is NOT capped H1B. If I work at a capped company in the future, I have to wait that company H1B petition is approved so I can work there, or I can work there as soon as they receive the receipt notice of H1B petition? Thanks.
