我估计很少人会有我这种情况：我现在是H1B,I-94卡上H1B有效期是明年2011年，因为家庭的原因我决定转成H4，并且在今年2月递交了H1转 H4 的申请。依据网上查到的H4审批的速度，我想H4至少要到下个月即4月份才会批准，而我也准备在3月中旬才向公司提出辞职，因为想给公司半个月的notice.可没想到移民局在一周以前已经批准了我的H4 申请，而我也没有办法立刻从公司辞职，因为不想对公司那样不仁不义。那现在我有如下几个问题：
1，现在我是不是H4在非法工作了？
-Yes if your status is effective (check the H4 effective date from the H4 approval notice.

2， 3月底我就辞职了，如果是非法打工的话也就20天，会有多严重的后果？会给我以后申请绿卡或者回国签证带来麻烦吗？
-Because you violated the H4 status rule, your H4 status is invalid and that means you are unlawyfully present at this point. Unlawyful presence for several weeks does not affect your anything if USCIS does not catch you and deport you. But the problem is that if you continue to stay in U.S., your unlawful presence will increase and whne it reaches 180 days, you will be big trouble. So, you had better go out of U.S. to get an H4 visa to come back and thus, your unlawyful presence record will be removed auto matically.

3，我曾咨询过律师，有的律师说我在非法打工，
-I agree with this lawyer

有的说因为我H1B的I-94还在有效期内，所以没有任何问题，请问哪个说的对，
-I do not agree with this lawyer.
