1. there is no grace period for H-1B
2. you should leave before 10/10/09
3. you cannot change to another status in the U.S. since after 09/30/09 you have no legal status in the U.S. in order to change 'that" status to another one. You can legally stay till 10/10/09. I-94 gives you 10 day "grace period" for you to leave after your H-1B status expires on 09/30/09.
4. no. reasons are the same as above. After 09/30/09 you have no "status" can be extended.
