H1B Transfer -- Help!!!

I am current working as a software developer, I just got a new job in another company doing circuit design. Does my H-1B transferable since these two jobs are under two different job categories? I have two degrees ( Master in Computer Science and PH.D in Eletronic Engingeering).
Another question is that if I can file H-1B transfer, after the transfer get approved, can I still work for my old company?
