The transfer status of H1B (lay off), Ask Pjiang!!! Thanks!!!

Pjiang,

My lawyer told me you can transfer H1B to B1 for keeping the status for at least 30 days. After you find the job, you can transfer to your previous H1B from your B1 Status. Is that right? The 10 days is too short for me to find a new job. Do I need to transfer my H1b to B1 ? Is it easy ? Thanks!!!
