Technically, you only can work for one company at the time with a valid H1B visa. I don’t feel there is a big problem for a short period overlap, but not sure for a couple of months.

Most employers prefer you start the new job ASAP, however, this doesn’t mean they won’t accept a later start date. Why not take this opportunity giving yourself a good break then start the new job at end of August?
