Travel to China during the H1-B transfer-PJ teacher HELP

Hi, Friends: please help me here.

My company wants to to travel to China in July. I can use AP to come back. However, my H1-B is under transferring. I submitted in May and will take about 3 months to get approval. Please let me know :

Can I use AP to travel? What is the risk to come back with a different I-94 number? Thanks very much,
