I485 denial before H1B 7th yr extension approval??

EB2
6th year extension expires June 17th...
CIS told a decision should be made within 60 days after my 2nd finger print, which is May 22nd.

Will file 7th year extension tomorrow. What will happen if I485 is denied before the H1B is approved? Can I still work? Till when?
